This trip is well designed for you to experience and learn about Southern cuisine as well as visit popular sites in the region. Start the tour in Saigon where you will join a cooking class with local professional and enjoy various street foods then spend couple days in rustic Mekong delta, take a boat trip to visit floating market and try local specialties especially Hu Tieu which made the world renowned chef Gordon Ramsay be enamored of.
8:30 am: our guide will pick you up and drive to the bustling Ben Thanh market to learn about fresh ingredients for cooking lesson. This is an opportunity to feel the busy atmosphere of local’s life.
10:00 am: we will move to cooking class. Here, you will learn a lot from the Chef’ skills and listen to his secret to make perfect authentic Vietnamese dishes. Under the Chef’s guidance, you will have a great Vietnamese dish for yourself. After finishing cooking, it is time to enjoy your achievements.
2:00 PM: we will visit some highlights in Ho Chi Minh city such as the Reunification Palace, a palace of old President in South of Vietnam during the American war; Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office, the two symbols of the city featured with French architecture and War Remnants Museum.
In evening, you can stroll around the city to try variety of delicious street food and drinks.
Today we will start journey to Mekong Delta.
At 8:00 am: our guide will pick you up and drive to Cai Be. We get on a boat to visit Cai Be floating market to see how locals trading fruits and commodities, then stop at a small family business to learn how coconut candy and crispy rice popcorn are made. Stroll around the orchard garden and enjoy "Don Ca Tai Tu", a traditional Southern Vietnamese music.
Continue motorized boat to Tan Phong island and join cooking class, enjoy your self-cooked dishes and other local fresh foods for lunch. After lunch, we explore local village by bicycle.
In late afternoon, we drive to Can Tho. In evening, you are free to visit Ninh Kieu night market to experience diverse of local street foods.
Wake up early and transfer to the famous bustling Cai Rang floating market by motor boat. Let‘s take a Bun Rieu(crab noodles) or Hu Tieu bowl on boat to experience special broth which Gordon Ramsay tried on his culinary trip throughout Asia. Continue the boat ride to visit the Mekong Delta’s famous orchards and taste some of the fresh, exotic fruits.
Return to Can Tho for lunch then drive back to Saigon, arriving in the late afternoon. End of the tour.
